How this is built
We machine-read the record, resolve the same event across sources, and grade how independently it is attested. Then we publish the counts and the sources behind them. This page is the whole process, including what it cannot do.
Three steps, in order
Take in the whole record
Primary testimony, declassified government files, peer-reviewed papers and original archival records — interviews, lectures and documentaries transcribed in full; scripture included for motif comparison only.
Read against one schema
Every source is analysed into the same nine facets — cases, claims, beings, craft, quotes, connections, theories, entities and topics — so all of it becomes comparable.
Resolve & weight
The same event is merged across sources, then graded on the independence ladder. The unit of corroboration is the person, not the video.
What a grade means
Every case is graded on how independently it is attested — never on how believable we find it. The unit of corroboration is the person, not the video: ten uploads of one interview is one telling. Of 15,453 resolved cases, 853 reach L4.
The corpus, as of 2026-10-03
“Hours” counts audio we have actually transcribed, not audio we hold. “Named people” is the resolved-person list, which includes interviewers and researchers as well as witnesses — it is not a witness count. Scripture is indexed for motif comparison only and never counts as corroboration.
The limits, stated plainly
- We index the discourse, not reality. A high grade means an event is well attested in the record. It is not a finding that the event happened as described.
- Counts move as the corpus grows. Every figure carries the date it was computed. An older screenshot of this site will disagree with it, and the newer number is the right one.
- Coverage is uneven. Where one channel carries most of a case, that reflects our indexing, not the world. We flag it rather than reading it as consensus.
- Released documents are a curated fraction. Absence of a document is not evidence that nothing happened, and we never treat it as such.
- Errors get corrected in public. Found one? Tell us and we will fix the record and say what changed.
If you are quoting us
Use the figure and the date together: “15,453 resolved cases (Fractured Realities, 2026-10-03)”. Every case page lists the sources behind its numbers, and states the date those numbers were computed. If a claim on this site is not traceable to a source we have published, treat it as an error and tell us.
