The Alaska USO Report

A US Navy communications operator says a classified priority message crossed his desk in 1969 describing an elliptical object leaving the sea off Alaska and climbing into space, tracked on a ship's radar. This is the record of what was reported through Navy channels, not a verdict on what came out of the water.

◆ THE SHORT VERSION

  • The Alaska USO Report is a reported UAP case in Juneau, family home, USA, 1968–1969.
  • The record describes a childhood encounter, reported paralysis and a fast-moving object.
  • For this case Fractured Realities holds 3 distinct sources and 1 claimant on its resolved list.
  • The archive grades it L2 · MULTI-CHANNEL — it is attested across more than one independent channel.

Counts are resolved totals of what sources say, computed 2026-10-03; the reported details above are claims in the record, not findings. A record of reports, not a verdict on what happened.

The account comes from Dan Willis, who worked in a Navy code room and says a classified priority message reached him from a ship operating near Alaska. The message described a brightly glowing reddish-orange elliptical object, roughly seventy feet across, emerging from the ocean and departing upward at great speed. The detail that matters to the archive is not the speed figure but the claim of instrumentation: the report is said to have been substantiated on the ship's own radar rather than resting on what the crew saw.

What is on the record

Three tellings across two channels, with one counted claimant. Dan Willis relays the ship's message rather than witnessing the object, so he is not counted; the single claimant is the witness in the Juneau strand described below. The grade is testimony. No message text, log or radar plot is in the archive, and the ship is not named in the material we hold, so the corroboration described inside the account cannot be examined from outside it.

A second, separate strand sits under the same canonical and should be read as separate: a childhood encounter at a family home near Juneau, in which a five-year-old described being held in a beam from a half-moon-shaped object outside a window, followed by lasting physiological effects. It is a different kind of claim from the shipboard report, and the file carries both under one heading.

Why it sits where it does

This case grades L2: the tellings run across more than one channel, but only one first-hand witness stands behind them, and no documents do. What raises it above a single anecdote is the claim of a radar track and a routed classified message, both of which would be checkable if the paperwork ever surfaced. It has not. What the ship reported, and whether anything left the water, is not resolved here.
