The Bahamas Beam Encounter

The archive files two very different accounts under this Bahamas canonical: a beam-of-light encounter on the dunes behind a downrange tracking station, and a separate story of an underground base inside a cliff. The dating is loose, spread across the 1960s and 1970s. This is the record of what was reported, not a verdict on what was on that coast.

◆ THE SHORT VERSION

  • The Bahamas Beam Encounter is a reported UAP case in Bahamas (sand dunes behind tracking station near downrange Cape Canaveral facility), 1960s (McMoneagle's first assignment).
  • The record describes screen memories and suppressed memory.
  • For this case Fractured Realities holds 3 distinct sources and 3 distinct claimants on its resolved list.
  • The archive grades it L3 · MULTI-SOURCE — multiple independent sources attest to it.

Counts are resolved totals of what sources say, computed 2026-10-03; the reported details above are claims in the record, not findings. A record of reports, not a verdict on what happened.

Walking across sand dunes at night behind a tracking station downrange of the Cape Canaveral facilities, Joseph McMoneagle and Steve Roberts reported being caught in a downward cone of light thrown by a slowly rotating disc with visible panel lines. The craft vanished in an instant. Both men fell ill with radiation-like symptoms; Roberts, in the account, was left with a shirt design seared into his chest and a memory of nothing but a red truck, described in the telling as a screen memory. Station telemetry was whited out during the event, and a Navy medic is said to have destroyed the report. One version adds that a nearby palm tree had apparently shifted position.

What is on the record

The archive holds three retellings across two channels and resolves three claimants. Two of them belong to the beam account above: McMoneagle and Roberts. The third claimant is Richard Höglund, whose telling comes from a different channel and is a different kind of story altogether. It begins with a boat trip with two men, Joe and Lee, one of whom he said walked on water, and runs to an underground base inside a cliff, beings from many planets, training for a peace mission and a three-dimensional film of Earth's history. The film's scene of the crucifixion, the account says, made him faint. The two accounts do not obviously describe one event, and the archive has gathered them under a single canonical. A reader should treat them as distinct.

The dating is wide, ranging across 1960 to 1979. That span is another sign that separate material has been drawn together here. Neither account is supported by a document or a frame of film. Everything rests on testimony.

Why it sits where it does

The count of claimants and the two channels put the case at L3. Against that stands the mismatch: the tellings diverge, no records support them, and the file blends what may be two different events. What happened on the dunes is not resolved here, nor whether it belongs with Höglund's account at all.
