The Borok Encounter

Alexander Kozhenkov and Vitaly Zapevalov were walking a forest path near Borok when, by Kozhenkov's account, his companion froze where he stood. A silent loaf-shaped craft was on the path ahead, and it opened outward in a motion he compared to a flower. Two tall figures came from it. He described them as covered in frost and glowing, communicating in what he called musical tones.

What is on the record

One telling on one channel, two named claimants, and no documents. The grade is testimony.

The content of the communication is recorded briefly: conveyed without speech, and to the effect that they came from three triangle-shaped stars. What makes the file more interesting than that claim is the asymmetry afterwards. Zapevalov, who was paralysed through the encounter, recalled nothing of it. Kozhenkov remembered all of it and is described as being left calmer and more philosophical by the experience. Two men on the same path, one with a complete account and one with none.

Photographs were taken. They came out overexposed and white. The record notes this without explaining it, and it is equally consistent with a fogged film and with the thing described.

A note on this file's history. A GEIPAN case record was for a time attached to it as corroboration. That document is the French agency's file on a 1981 sighting at Borgo in Haute-Corse, matched to Borok on the similarity of the two names alone, and it has been removed.
