The Fontvieille searchlight
Late on an April night in 1978 a motorist at Fontvieille in the Bouches-du-Rhône watched three blinking red lights drift about a hundred metres above the ground. One of them came down and swept the ground with what looked like a searchlight. France's official UAP unit filed the case as unexplained. This is the record of what was reported, not a verdict on what was in the sky.
