The John Seer Royal Navy Encounter

Some time in the 1980s, aboard a Royal Navy warship a few hours north of Scotland, John Seer says he and the crew watched an object hover about a hundred feet above a calm sea a mile off the port bow. He says radar held it and that scrambled jets confirmed it. This is the record of one man's account, not a verdict on what was off the bow.

◆ THE SHORT VERSION

  • The John Seer Royal Navy Encounter is a reported UAP case in North Atlantic, a few hours north of Scotland, circa 1980s.
  • The record describes radar confirmation, grey beings, an object hovering and a fast-moving object.
  • For this case Fractured Realities holds 1 distinct source and 5 distinct claimants on its resolved list.
  • The archive grades it L3 · MULTI-SOURCE — multiple independent sources attest to it.

Counts are resolved totals of what sources say, computed 2026-10-03; the reported details above are claims in the record, not findings. A record of reports, not a verdict on what happened.

The sea was calm and the object sat about a hundred feet above it, a mile off the port bow. Seer describes it as shaped like a star or a disc. He says the ship's radar held it and that the radio operator checked with civilian and military authorities, who confirmed nothing known was in that airspace. Jets were scrambled and the pilots, he says, confirmed a UFO. The object then departed in an instant and left a vapour trail behind it. Seer describes being scanned, and a message reaching him without sound: we are your children's children. Afterwards the captain addressed the ship's company. What you have just seen, you have not.

What is on the record

This is a single-source case and the archive should not dress it up. One telling from one channel carried by one video. The archive resolves five claimants but four of them are roles rather than people. They are the skipper, the radio operator, the fighter pilots and the crew. They appear in the file because Seer describes them. Not one of them has given an account of their own here.

The dating is loose. The file spans the whole of the 1980s with no closer fix than circa. The location is given as North Atlantic waters a few hours north of Scotland and is not pinned. There are no documents of any class attached, no radar tape, no ship's log, no Ministry of Defence paperwork. The elements that would raise this case, the radar hold and the scrambled interception, are exactly the elements that exist only as Seer's testimony.

Why it sits where it does

The archive grades this L3 on the number of claimants the account names, though the sourcing behind it is a single channel carrying a single man's testimony, and readers should weigh it that way. Without documents it cannot reach the corroborated tier. What the file holds is one detailed first-hand account, including an order to forget. What was hovering off the port bow is not resolved here.
