Karl Wolfe's darkroom
Karl Wolfe, a US Air Force technician, said that while repairing equipment for the Lunar Orbiter programme at Langley he was shown photo mosaics of a base on the far side of the Moon. He told the story publicly decades later and is now dead. This is the record of one man's testimony, not a verdict on what was in the mosaics.
◆ THE SHORT VERSION
- Karl Wolfe's darkroom is a reported UAP case on the Moon, early 1960s.
- Karl Wolfe said an Airman Second Class told him they had found a base on the far side of the Moon and showed him Lunar Orbiter mosaics of towers, spherical and mushroom-shaped buildings and objects like radar dishes, some half a mile across.
- A second telling describes the same mosaics as a megalithic city of poured stone and adds that Wolfe later died in a hit-and-run.
- The Lunar Orbiter spacecraft flew in 1966 and 1967, so their photographs could not have been in a darkroom in 1965, the year Wolfe himself gave.
- Wolfe died in 2018 when a lorry struck him while cycling in Lansing, New York; it was reported as a collision, and the airman who showed him the mosaics is unnamed.
