The Kingman Crash Claim

A cluster of accounts, most of them surfacing decades later, alleges that a craft was recovered from the desert near Kingman, Arizona in 1953 and that engineers were bused in under secrecy to examine it. Nothing in the archive establishes that a retrieval took place. This is the record of what has been claimed, not a verdict on what lay in the sand.

◆ THE SHORT VERSION

  • The Kingman Crash Claim is a reported UAP case in the USA, 1953.
  • The record describes men in black, small humanoid figures, claimed reverse-engineering and a nuclear facility nearby.
  • For this case Fractured Realities holds 17 distinct sources, 1 corroborating primary document and 6 distinct claimants on its resolved list.
  • The archive grades it L4 · DOC-CORROBORATED — the testimony is corroborated by primary government documents, the top of our scale.

Counts are resolved totals of what sources say, computed 2026-10-03; the reported details above are claims in the record, not findings. A record of reports, not a verdict on what happened.

What is alleged at Kingman is a recovery. In accounts that reached the public long after the fact, an engineer working on nuclear weapons test effects said he was put aboard a bus with blacked-out windows and driven into the Arizona desert. Floodlights, he says, stood over an oval craft of roughly thirty feet across with a brushed aluminium finish, sunk about twenty inches into the sand and showing no damage. He was there to measure impact velocity. Some tellings add a small dead pilot in a silvery suit, and bodies under canvas in a nearby tent.

What is on the record

The archive resolves six claimants for this canonical, across four channels and seventeen videos. The claimant list is itself a caution. The central engineer appears both under his own name and under a pseudonym, and the senior figures named beside him shift between Dr Ed Doll and Dr Edward Dahl from one telling to the next. Much of the material is second-hand, routed through the investigator Leonard Stringfield or through the later whistleblower Bill Uhouse rather than from the engineer directly.

The accounts also disagree with each other. Craft size runs from twenty-five to thirty feet. One version, attributed to Harry Drew's book on the period, describes three craft coming down in late May 1953 after interference from experimental radar. Uhouse's account has four living occupants taken to a New Mexico facility, free to leave; other tellings have only dead bodies. Several link the event to Operation Upshot-Knothole nuclear testing. The file carries one government primary document, a CIA record from the agency's FOIA UFO collection, held as corroboration.

Why it sits where it does

Kingman grades L4, the document-corroborated tier, because a government primary record sits in the file alongside the testimony. That grading measures independence of sourcing and nothing else. It is not a finding that the retrieval happened, and the archive does not treat it as one. What the document supports and what the tellings assert are not the same thing, and the gap between them is not resolved here.
