The Lagoa Negra Landing

In early January 1968 a family and their farm manager at the Lagoa Negra fazenda in southern Brazil watched a glowing disc sit above their land for around twenty minutes, and reported that beings came out of it and walked towards the house. The dogs did not react. This is the record of what the household reported, not a verdict on what came down at the fazenda.

Five people at the Lagoa Negra fazenda, in the municipality of Mostardas near the Lagoa dos Patos, reported the same thing in early January 1968. A disc glowing red hung over the property and stayed there for something like twenty minutes. Figures came out of it. Two of them are described as tall at around two metres with a bearing the account calls saint-like, and three as smaller at around 1.4 metres. The tall pair walked towards the house and opened the gate to get through, then closed it behind them. The disc afterwards rose straight up and left.

What is on the record

The archive resolves five claimants here from one video and one reporting channel. None of them is named. They appear in the file by role: the owner of the fazenda, his wife, his son, his daughter and the manager. That is a real limit on the entry, since a case that turns entirely on testimony is weakened when the archive cannot say whose testimony it is.

Two details in the account are worth keeping because they cut against the usual shape of such reports. The dogs on the property stayed calm throughout, where animal distress is the more common claim in encounter accounts. And the behaviour attributed to the tall figures is mundane rather than dramatic. They used the gate as anyone would, and shut it after themselves.

There are no documents in this entry. No photograph, no ground trace, no police or air force paperwork and no contemporary report of any kind sits in the file. What the archive holds is a single retelling of a household's account of one night.

Why it sits where it does

The case grades L3, the archive's independent-testimony tier, because five people in one household described one connected event at close range. It has no documentary or physical support and comes through a single channel, which is where it stops. Who walked up to that gate is not resolved here.
