Four Los Alamos Security Inspectors and a Green Fireball That Levelled off
At 20:54 on 20 December 1948 two pairs of security inspectors at posts eight miles apart near Los Alamos watched a greenish-white fireball descend, level off and fly almost horizontally for about 7.5 miles before it vanished. Lincoln LaPaz, who triangulated it for the Air Force, wrote that he had "no hesitancy" in saying it was not a falling meteorite. This is the record of what four inspectors reported, not a verdict on what crossed north of Los Alamos.
