The Palau-del-Vidre Black Triangle
Early one morning in late October 2008 two workers starting their round in the Pyrénées-Orientales saw an enormous black triangle with a red light at its centre pass over the roofs of Palau-del-Vidre. France's official UAP unit could not fit it to an aircraft. This is the record of what they reported, not a verdict on what crossed the village.
◆ THE SHORT VERSION
- The Palau-del-Vidre Black Triangle is a reported UAP case in Palau-del-Vidre, Pyrénées-Orientales, France, October 2008.
- Two workers starting an early round reported an enormous black triangle with a red light in its middle passing over the houses of the village.
- Their statement puts it less than 100 metres away, moving slowly and in total silence.
- GEIPAN reasoned that an aircraft would have shown position lights and flashing anti-collision lights, which the witnesses did not report.
- GEIPAN concluded that none of the usual hypotheses correctly explains the triangle and classed the case D1.
