The Sélestat Boomerang
At about 1.45am on 30 October 1994 a couple driving home in Alsace said a ring of lights hung just above their car, then a lit triangle paced them for kilometres at 80 km/h. The gendarmerie took their statements that afternoon. This is the record of what was reported, not a verdict on what followed the car.
◆ THE SHORT VERSION
- The Sélestat Boomerang is a reported UAP case in Sélestat, Bas-Rhin, France, 30 October 1994.
- A couple reported a turning ring of lights hanging five or six metres above their car, then a lit triangle about ten metres a side that kept pace with them for kilometres at around 80 km/h.
- The driver told gendarmes the object finally stood about 50 metres ahead, beat like wings, turned four times and left at high speed in the shape of a boomerang.
- Gendarmes found nothing on two air bases' radar, no other witnesses, and a nightclub whose lasers drew no shapes.
- GEIPAN's summary cites a second couple in another car, but the released file holds only the one couple and says they were the only people to report it.
- For this case Fractured Realities holds 1 distinct source and 1 corroborating primary document.
