In August 1976 four men on a canoe trip in northern Maine reported being pursued across Eagle Lake by a large glowing sphere, and came ashore to find the big fire they had built burned out. Under separate hypnosis years later, all four described being taken aboard. This is the record of what was claimed, not a verdict on what was over the lake.

LOCATION
Eagle Lake (abduction); Chamberlain Lake (first sighting) · USA
Four men on a canoe and fishing trip were out on Eagle Lake at night when a huge glowing sphere rose over the water. It made no sound. Charlie Foltz signalled at it with a torch and the accounts agree that it responded, turning a tube-like beam of light on the canoe and following them as they paddled hard for shore. They reached the bank exhausted. The large fire they had built before setting out had burned down to nothing, which is where the missing time in this case begins. Their first sighting on the trip had come earlier, at Chamberlain Lake.
What is on the record
The archive holds three videos across two channels and resolves five claimants for four men. The roster lists Chuck and Chuck Rak separately, and the surname of the twins appears as both Weiner and Wiener depending on the telling, so the names are inconsistent even where the story is not. The men are Jim and Jack Weiner, Charlie Foltz and Chuck Rak.
The lake and the burned-out fire are the part described as conscious recall. Everything that follows came later. The tellings say the four underwent isolated hypnotic regressions with Ray Fowler, one account placing this twelve years afterwards, and that under hypnosis each described being drawn up a tube of light, lying paralysed and undressed while beings with insect-like heads and black eyes carried out medical procedures, including the taking of sperm samples. Two of the men report lasting physical marks: bald patches on Jim's shins and tumours in the same places on his twin.
There are no documents in this file at all. No photographs, no investigator's paperwork, no medical records and no government record. The regression sessions are described as separate, but the archive holds nothing that would let a reader test that separation.
Why it sits where it does
Allagash grades L3, testimony from independent claimants describing one connected event. Two channels carry it rather than one, which is unusual for a case with no documents behind it. Nothing here climbs to the document-corroborated tier, and the substantive content of the abduction claim reaches the record through hypnosis rather than direct memory. What the four men saw on the lake is not resolved here.
