Atlantis Chaos
In 2009 the HiRISE camera photographed part of Atlantis Chaos, a basin of broken ground in the southern highlands of Mars, as a possible rover landing site. The independent researcher Jean Ward later picked out a web of straight-edged squares and triangles in the frame, and the programme that carried his work floated ancient cities. This is the record of that reading, not a verdict on what the basin holds.
◆ THE SHORT VERSION
- Atlantis Chaos is a reported UAP case on Mars, 2009.
- A 2009 HiRISE frame shows a web of squares and triangles running for hundreds of metres to kilometres, many almost perfectly right-angled, picked out by Jean Ward; asked on air whether they could be ancient cities or villages, the physicist presenting his work called that at least as plausible as any geological explanation.
- The host says the ground looks like the Hollywood Hills after a fire; his guest offers houses on hills above old rivers.
- NASA photographed the site as a possible rover landing site and files it under nothing else; the published literature calls the basin chaos terrain, ground that has collapsed into blocks.
- For this case Fractured Realities holds 1 distinct source.
- The archive grades it L0 · SINGLE ACCOUNT — the archive holds one account of it, from a single source.
Counts are resolved totals of what sources say, computed 2026-10-03; the reported details above are claims in the record, not findings. A record of reports, not a verdict on what happened.
