The Columbus Sensor Clip

In November 2022, AARO judges, an infrared sensor on a US military platform in the Northern Command area tracked a small area of contrast, and a second one crossed its view. The uploader titled the clip after an intelligence report on "several" unidentified aerial phenomena near Columbus, Ohio. This is the record of what the clip shows, not a verdict on what was in the sky.

The sensor swings to centre a small bright spot and holds it. For half a minute it cycles contrast modes and zoom, and at one point the spot seems to rotate, which AARO puts down to the sensor's own orientation. Then a second area of contrast drops in from the top of the screen and crosses the view until a redacted part of the display hides it. At 1:17 the first one fades into the background. The second comes back briefly and leaves at the top.

What is on the record

The only record is the video, DOW-UAP-PR073, published in the Department of War's second PURSUE release on 22 May 2026. Its title is the uploader's: "IIR 1 655 S0053 23/Several Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Encountered In The Vicinity of Columbus OH". The intelligence report itself has not been released. AARO judges the 88-second clip likely to come from an infrared sensor on a US military platform in Northern Command's area in November 2022. It was uploaded to a classified network in March 2023. No platform, unit or position is given, and the release lists the place only as the Midwestern United States.

The title promises several objects and the clip shows two. AARO found it in a collection that it says often lacks a substantiated chain of custody. It offers no assessment, and local coverage added nothing beyond AARO's description.

Why it sits where it does

The clip grades L0: a single record that names nobody who saw anything, so there is no identified witness. The tier measures sourcing rather than truth. What the sensor held near Columbus is not resolved here.
