The Ethelbert Street Sightings

Don Campbell and his wife reported a silent object with flashing red and green lights hovering over their street in 1966. In a later episode Campbell and a friend described watching a craft through a powerful telescope and seeing figures inside it. This is the record of what was reported, not a verdict on what was above Ethelbert Street.

◆ THE SHORT VERSION

  • The Ethelbert Street Sightings is a reported UAP case in Canada, 1966–1967.
  • The record describes humanoid figures, a silent craft, an object hovering and a fast-moving object.
  • For this case Fractured Realities holds 1 distinct source and 3 distinct claimants on its resolved list.
  • The archive grades it L3 · MULTI-SOURCE — multiple independent sources attest to it.

Counts are resolved totals of what sources say, computed 2026-10-03; the reported details above are claims in the record, not findings. A record of reports, not a verdict on what happened.

The first sighting is ordinary in shape. Don and Alice Campbell describe an object with flashing red and green lights hovering silently above their street, dropping suddenly, then going dark except for a white glow before it climbed away. It is recorded as Campbell's first, which matters because he became a repeat observer.

What is on the record

Two tellings on a single channel, three named claimants in Don and Alice Campbell and Jimmy Tomasini, and no documents. The grade is testimony.

The second telling is the one that carries the file, and it is also the one that asks the most of a reader. Campbell and Tomasini describe observing a craft through a telescope of six hundred power and seeing structure and occupants: portholes, a dome, three or four figures standing in silver suits at a control panel, and one figure in black they took for a leader. The craft is described as drifting away when they drove towards it.

The archive should be plain about the difficulty. A telescope at that magnification has a very narrow field and a shallow depth of focus, and holding a moving object in it long enough to resolve figures at a panel is a demanding claim. Nothing in the file describes a photograph through the eyepiece, a second instrument, or any other observer.

The location is recorded as a street address and held at region level, and the second episode is not separately dated.

Why it sits where it does

L3 on three named claimants across two tellings from one channel. What Don Campbell watched through that telescope is not resolved here.
