The Silent Ring of Lights at Ecquevilly
At about half past four on the morning of 15 November 1993 a man at Ecquevilly, in the Yvelines, was woken by his dogs and saw a ring of white, yellow and bluish lights glide silently over his house. France's official investigators reopened the case in 2018, tested a helicopter against his sketches and could not make it fit. This is the record of one man's report and how it was tested, not a verdict on what crossed his roof.
◆ THE SHORT VERSION
- The Silent Ring of Lights at Ecquevilly is a reported UAP case in Ecquevilly, Yvelines, France, 15 November 1993.
- Woken by his dogs at 4.30 in the morning, a man saw his dogs and horses all staring the same way, then lights shining on the ground that made no sound even with the window open.
- The lights moved towards him and passed over the house as a ring of strong and faint lights, white, yellow and bluish, throwing flashes he likened to disco black light.
- GEIPAN's 2018 review sized the lights from his own sketches and found that a helicopter big enough to match would have been about 55 metres away and clearly heard.
- The case stays class D, unexplained, which GEIPAN calls borderline because no field interview was possible so long after.
