The road to Groom Lake ends at a line of warning signs, and by the turn of the 1990s it had become a place people drove to. The core report here is short and physical. A group of eighteen in a seven-car caravan, heading back after photographing the sign area, say a military helicopter came down on them and stayed for fifteen or sixteen minutes, flying five to eight feet above the cars and cutting across in front of them at low level. No craft, no lights, no occupants. Just an aircraft used as a message.

Seven videos across two channels resolve to nine named claimants. The dating is loose. The file's best date is 21 February 1990 while its year range runs from 1970 to 1991, which is a sign that the sources were discussing several Nevada episodes together rather than one night. They are not all the same story.

Norio Hayakawa and a Nippon Television crew, tipped off by Bob Lazar, describe orange-yellow lights over the Jumbled Hills after sundown and an object making a sharp drop of some five thousand feet. Lazar, John Lear and Gene Huff describe a later trip on which they were cut off by security vehicles, detained at gunpoint, filmed in infrared and held for an hour by a county sheriff before being released with a warning. Edgar Fouché describes a two-week assignment at Groom Lake repairing crypto equipment under polarised glasses that blurred anything beyond thirty feet, and a triangle he says he saw there in 1979.
