The Ilyumzhinov Abduction Claim

Kirsan Ilyumzhinov was president of Kalmykia and a senior figure in international chess when he began telling this story, and he has never withdrawn it. That is what makes the file unusual. Most abduction accounts cost their witness something to tell. This one was told by a man with a public office to protect, and it was told anyway.

What is on the record

Four tellings across two independent channels, two claimants, and no documents. The grade is testimony. Two further tellings were added during this review, when the archive's separate records for this event were consolidated into one.

He describes hearing a call, seeing a glowing translucent tube outside the window of his top-floor apartment, and walking through it into a large craft occupied by tall beings in yellow clothing who communicated without speech. Their message, as he reports it, was that humanity was not yet ready for contact. He also describes asking to be returned because of commitments the following day in Elista and Ukraine, which is a strikingly administrative detail for the circumstances.

The corroborating element sits in the first telling: three friends and police are said to have searched the locked apartment for more than an hour, and he is described as emerging from a bedroom they had already been through. Those searchers are not named in the archive and their accounts are not in our holdings, so the corroboration exists inside the story rather than beside it.
