On 11 October 1973 two men fishing on the Pascagoula River in Mississippi reported being taken aboard a craft that had settled near the bank, and told the sheriff the same evening. Their account has been retold many times since, and the retellings do not agree in every particular. This is the record of what was claimed, not a verdict on what came down to the river.
On 11 October 1973 Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker were fishing on the Pascagoula River in Mississippi when a hissing sound made them turn. By their account a craft was hovering close to the ground a short distance off. Figures came out of it. Hickson said he was paralysed and floated aboard into a lit round room where an eye-like device passed over his body. Parker fainted. Both men were put back near the spot they had been standing, and the object left. They reported the incident to the sheriff.
What is on the record
The archive resolves two named claimants against sixteen videos across three channels. That ratio is the shape of this case. It is heavily retold rather than heavily witnessed, and the retellings differ. The craft is football-shaped in one telling and cigar-shaped in another. The beings are counted as two in one account and three in others. They are described in some tellings as robotic, in others as silvery and wrinkled with pincer-like claws, in one as light grey with claw hands; another gives them slit mouths, no apparent eyes and a soft buzzing for communication. What holds steady across the tellings is the levitation and the eye-like instrument.
Several accounts describe investigation. Dr Harder is said to have regressed both men under hypnosis and concluded they described a real occurrence. Hynek is described as reaching them within forty-eight hours and finding them in genuine shock. Hickson is reported to have passed a polygraph. Later tellings carry material the earlier ones do not: nightmares, nightly cold sweats, a cut on his arm that healed unusually fast, and continued telepathic contact. The archive holds a single document here, a CIA FOIA item classed as reporting rather than as government corroboration of the event.
Why it sits where it does
Pascagoula grades L3, testimony from independent claimants describing one connected event. No primary government record sits in the file and no sensor data, so it does not reach the document-corroborated tier. What the record holds is two men who told the same story on the night it happened and went on telling it under hypnosis and to investigators. What they met on that bank is not resolved here.
