The San Gorgonio Stranger
At about eight in the evening of 19 August 1952 a fighter flight under ground control from Norton Air Force Base reported a "stranger" near San Gorgonio Mountain in southern California. The flight leader said it had no tail and accelerated away eastward, "disappearing into space", and ground radar never picked it up. This is the record of what a pilot reported, not a verdict on what he saw.
