The account is set near Silbury Hill and The Sanctuary in Wiltshire, at dusk in 1999. Two balls of light are described hanging in the sky and moving gently near the sacred sites. As the observers watched, a heavy military gunship-type helicopter is said to have raced towards the lights. They blinked out and reappeared instantly more than six miles away, then returned once the helicopter had left. It is a short episode told as a single sequence of appearance, pursuit and disappearance.

What is on the record

The archive draws this case from a single channel, which carries two retellings of the same episode. Those two versions are close. One adds that the helicopter looked American and that the lights moved gently before the pursuit. Between them the record resolves three claimants, and that figure should be read with care. The witnesses are given only as an unnamed researcher and a partner, and the partner is entered once in each telling, so the count describes two people watching the same event rather than three separate observers. The count reflects overlapping accounts from one source, not a broad independent crowd.

No documents sit behind the case. The military helicopter is part of the telling, not something the archive can attach to any record. There is nothing here to set against the account or to test it.

Why it sits where it does

The case grades L3 on its three resolved claimants. Here the multiplicity comes from two overlapping retellings on a single channel rather than from independent sources, and with no documents and no authenticated footage there is nothing to lift it further. What the two lights were, and why the helicopter came, is not resolved here.
