The Southern Illinois Triangle

Police officers describe a black triangle the size of a football pitch that drifted low and slow over their towns and then relocated six or seven miles in two or three seconds. The reports came in from a string of small places in southern Illinois: Milstadt, Lebanon, Shiloh, Dupo. Serving officers in separate jurisdictions described the same object over the same period. It was a silent triangle or arrowhead with three lights at the rear and a strobing light at the centre. Its track took it within about a mile of Scott Air Force Base.

The archive resolves nine claimants across four videos and two channels. One entry is a collective for unnamed officers. Officer Ed Barton, Officer Craig Stevens and Officer Milstead are named; officers at Dupo and Shiloh appear by town alone, alongside a truck driver from Highland. They are separate observers calling in as the object moved across their patch.

A separate telling has a stranger story, and it adds two claimants. A man driving at around four in the morning describes a silent craft shaped like a box or a house, with lit windows and changing coloured lights, hovering about 200 feet up. Across the highway a triangle turned on a flat axis and flashed back at it, as if the two were signalling. The house-shaped craft then paced his truck down the road. His partner, Wanda, confirms he phoned her as it happened but says she stayed sceptical for years. The telling neither names him nor ties his night to the officers' sightings.

Officer Stevens is reported to have taken a Polaroid. The archive does not hold that photograph, so it counts as a claim about evidence rather than evidence. One officer also reports a low-frequency buzzing from a patrol car.

Scott AFB is said to have denied any radar detection, but no paperwork for that denial sits in the archive. There are no documents in this file and no video of the object.

Why it sits where it does

The case grades L3, multiple independent claimants describing one connected event, carried on testimony. Without government records or authenticated sensor data it does not reach L4, and the absent Polaroid cannot lift it. Several trained observers in different towns described one large silent object. What it was is not resolved here.
