Thermal Objects over the Mountains

In 2026 government Special Agents in the mountains of the western United States tracked aerial objects through thermal optics: two slow "black hot" shapes moving together after a radio-frequency alert, and on another evening a hot object half the size of a Black Hawk flying south beyond the ridges. The FBI records came out in August 2026 with the thermal video of the first sighting. This is the record of what the agents observed, not a verdict on what they saw.

◆ THE SHORT VERSION

  • Thermal Objects over the Mountains is a reported UAP case in Western United States (sites withheld), 2026 (dates withheld).
  • Cued by an RF detection, a Special Agent filmed two slow objects moving together above a mountain line through a thermal optic; the record says both were "black hot".
  • On another evening a Special Agent reported a hot aerial object he judged about half the size of a US Army Black Hawk, flying south two ridge lines further west.
  • The first sighting's thermal video was released; the Black Hawk reference footage from the second was not.
  • The agent in the second sighting could not rule out a fixed-wing, rotary-wing or unmanned aircraft, and a Black Hawk was flying in the same area.
  • For this case Fractured Realities holds 3 distinct sources and 3 corroborating primary documents.
  • The archive grades it L1 · SINGLE CHANNEL — it is retold more than once, but everything traces back through one channel.

Counts are resolved totals of what sources say, computed 2026-10-03; the reported details above are claims in the record, not findings. A record of reports, not a verdict on what happened.

The first alert was a radio signal. At about 16:04 on a 2026 date a Special Agent was told of "an RF detection" at 10,000 feet above sea level and asked to look along a bearing of 58 degrees. Through a thermal optic he found "a black object in the sky", not moving fast. Then a second appeared to its right. The two moved together at the same speed. "Both were black hot," the record says. He photographed and filmed them above the mountain line for five to ten minutes. He could not estimate their height or speed. Black hot is a display setting in which warmer things show darker.

On another evening at about 21:00 a Special Agent back in "the same general observation area referenced in my prior statement" picked up a "thermally elevated aerial object". It sat about two ridge lines further west than the object he had seen the night before, heading south as that one had. He had filmed a US Army Black Hawk in the area for scale and judged the object about half its size. He could not tell what kind of aircraft it was, and terrain and distance took it from view.

What is on the record

Two FBI FD-302s came in the Department of War's PURSUE release of 7 August 2026. FBI-UAP-D032 interviews the first agent, whose agency is redacted. FBI-UAP-D033 reproduces a signed statement from the second. The release pairs D032 with the thermal video FBI-UAP-PR007, which DVIDS describes as two slow-moving black-hot areas of contrast. D033's Black Hawk footage and the earlier statement it cites are not in the release. Dates, places and the operation are withheld.

Linking the two is our inference. Neither record mentions the other, and the times, bearings and object counts differ. The records carry their own ordinary candidates: D033 could not rule out a fixed-wing, rotary-wing or unmanned aircraft, and a Black Hawk was flying nearby. D032's sighting was cued by an RF detection, which implies something emitting that the record does not identify. Its direction line is muddled, calling a bearing of 58 to 62 degrees south-east.

Why it sits where it does

The page grades L1, one channel. Each sighting rests on one observer, and the agents are redacted, so the records carry no identified witness and the page cannot reach the official-record tier. A tier measures sourcing, never truth. What the optics picked up is not resolved here.
