The Zonza Dark Mass
At about 5am on 28 August 2014 a man crossing a campsite near Sainte-Lucie de Porto-Vecchio, in the commune of Zonza in Corsica, watched a huge black circle with lights at its centre drift silently towards Sardinia. Rows of smaller dark shapes went before it and after it. GEIPAN investigated on the ground and could not explain it. This is the record of what one witness reported, not a verdict on what crossed the sky.
◆ THE SHORT VERSION
- The Zonza Dark Mass is a reported UAP case in Sainte-Lucie de Porto-Vecchio, Zonza, Corse-du-Sud, France, 28 August 2014.
- A lone witness crossing a Corsican campsite before dawn described a huge black circle with a ring of four to eight lights at its centre moving silently across a clear sky.
- Rows of smaller dark groups, perhaps made of triangles, were said to travel ahead of it and behind it at the same slow pace towards Sardinia.
- GEIPAN's investigator checked meteors, a satellite re-entry, aircraft, cloud, a disco's sky projector and ocular migraine, and scored every one very unlikely or nil.
- GEIPAN classes the case D1, unexplained, of good consistency and medium to high strangeness.
