The 'Skinny Bob' Footage
2011 · Unknown · uploaded anonymously
WHAT IT IS
Grainy clips of a grey-type being, posted in 2011 as alleged leaked KGB footage. The uploader was never identified, no creator has ever claimed it, and it has never been conclusively debunked or authenticated.
THE CASE FOR
Fifteen years on, nobody has claimed authorship or produced the rig — unusual for a hoax this celebrated — and the era-consistent film artefacts and subtle motion have survived repeated frame-level scrutiny.
THE CASE AGAINST
Anonymous provenance is disqualifying on its own: no chain of custody, no original media, and modern CG plus deliberate film-grain compositing can produce exactly this. Extraordinary footage with no source is not evidence.
WHERE IT STANDS
Disputed. Serious questions remain about how it was made or what it shows, and neither side has settled them.
