The account begins on 15 September 1985 on Red Road across Bag Shot Heath in Surrey. David McMurray, a butcher, was in the car with his family when a metallic disc some fifty feet across came to a stop above the road. A second craft then paced the car. What the file describes from that point is less a sighting than a sequence. The family overslept. The car battery was dead. McMurray developed severe headaches and red circular marks that moved about his body over time.
What is on the record
The archive resolves six claimant entries: David and Susan McMurray, Lynn Brooks, Joy and June Rapley, and a Mr and Mrs Webb whom the file records jointly as a single entry. There is one video and one channel, Preston Dennett. No documents sit in the file, no photographs and no official paperwork of any kind.
The claimed aftermath is the bulk of this entry and it is unusual in kind. McMurray is described as having out-of-body experiences, as acquiring mechanical and electronic knowledge he had not had before, and as carrying a phrase that repeated in his mind, Epsilon 44L-47L. Under hypnosis the beings are said to have identified themselves as guardians of Earth. Automatic writing later produced a message about Earth having been watched since 12 BC. The record dates the contact as running from that September night through to 26 January 1986.
Two things follow from how the material arrives. The hypnosis and the automatic writing are the sources for most of the interpretive content, which means the identity claimed for the beings rests on techniques the archive treats as recall methods rather than as evidence. And a single channel carries the whole file, so the six claimants have not been reached independently.
Why it sits where it does
The case grades L3, multiple claimants describing one connected event. It goes no higher. There is no government record, no sensor data and no second reporting channel, and the physical effects described in the account are reported rather than documented. What the record holds is a family's account of a night on the heath and of months that followed it. What stopped over that road is not resolved here.
