The Edwards Lakebed Landing
On 3 May 1957 two photographers at Edwards Air Force Base said a silent saucer put down three landing legs on Rogers Dry Lake about fifty yards from them, then retracted them and climbed away. The story reached the world through the astronaut Gordon Cooper, who said he sent their film to Washington. This is the record of what Cooper retold for decades, not a verdict on what landed on the lakebed.
