The Six Spheres

On the evening of 29 July 2025 a US Air Force special operations crew in transit under Operation Inherent Resolve reported six small spherical objects grouped together, able to change direction "quickly and simultaneously" at an estimated 480 mph. The mission report was released in September 2026 with its location and names withheld. This is the record of what the crew reported, not a verdict on what flew past.

◆ THE SHORT VERSION

  • The Six Spheres is a reported UAP case in Operation Inherent Resolve area (location withheld), 29 July 2025.
  • A special operations crew reported "6x small spherical objects grouped together" that were "able to change directions quickly and simultaneously".
  • The report estimates the group at about 22,000 feet and 480 mph on a south-easterly track, while the aircraft flew north-west at 120 knots.
  • The report records no reaction to the aircraft, a "Solid" physical state and unknown propulsion.
  • Every figure is marked "Estimated" and no other sensor interrogated the objects, so the report does not show how the numbers were reached.
  • For this case Fractured Realities holds 2 distinct sources, 2 corroborating primary documents and 1 claimant on its resolved list.
  • The archive grades it L4 · OFFICIAL RECORD — a released government record names who saw it, the top of our scale, though no independent testimony sits beside that record.

Counts are resolved totals of what sources say, computed 2026-10-03; the reported details above are claims in the record, not findings. A record of reports, not a verdict on what happened.

The aircraft was still on its way to a tasking at 2022Z on 29 July 2025 when its crew logged a UAP incident. The description field reads "6x small spherical objects grouped together". The objects "seemed to be agile" and kept changing direction, and the report lists as their anomalous behaviour that they were "able to change directions quickly and simultaneously". It estimates their altitude at flight level 220, about 22,000 feet, and their speed at 480 mph on a south-easterly track. The aircraft itself was flying north-west at 120 knots.

The report records no reaction to the aircraft, giving their response to the observer as "NONE" and their physical state as "Solid". Their propulsion and whether they were under intelligent control are both entered as unknown. There were no effects on persons or equipment, and the weather was clear.

What is on the record

The document is a US Central Command mission report, DOW-UAP-D108, from the 65th Special Operations Squadron of the 1st Special Operations Wing. It was declassified on 10 July 2026 and published in the Department of War's sixth PURSUE release on 18 September 2026. The observer appears only as a staff sergeant. The take-off base, first and last coordinates, aircraft type and the observer's own assessment are all withheld. Altitude, speed and trajectory are each marked "Estimated", and no other sensor interrogated the objects, so the report does not show how those figures were reached. Its "Number of UAP Sighted" field is blank; the count of six comes from the description.

The release pairs the report with DOW-UAP-PR135, a 59-second infrared video. AARO describes several areas of contrast crossing the field of view and the sensor panning to keep them centred. The clip opens on a small island or sandbar with a lattice mast in open water, which the release does not identify. CBS News and EarthSky reported the item from the release. Neither the report nor AARO offers an explanation.

Why it sits where it does

L4 · OFFICIAL RECORD — a released government record names who saw it. The observer is identified by rank and squadron, with the name withheld. No independent testimony sits beside the report in the archive, and the tier measures sourcing rather than truth. What the six objects were is not resolved here.
