WHAT IT IS

A nautilus of fine lines about 120 m across, curling inward through a Swiss wheat field: one of the most elegant formations ever photographed from the air.

WHERE IT STANDS

Disputed. No maker has claimed it. Sceptics say people made it; proponents point to what they say people could not do.
