WHAT IT IS
An equilateral triangle about 180 ft a side with a different circle at each corner and a ringed circle at its heart. The first great 'sacred geometry' formation.
THE ALIEN READING
Read as a tetrahedron, an alchemical symbol and a key to 'hyperdimensional physics'. Believer newsletters reported a local power cut and lights over the hill that night, and remote viewers paid by a US research centre in 1992 'found' it was made by time-travelling aliens.
WHAT THE RECORD SAYS
No one has claimed it, and the lights and power cut trace back to believer newsletters, not to any independent record. It appeared weeks before Doug and Dave went public, in the same summer the Wessex Skeptics fooled a leading scientist with a test circle.
WHERE IT STANDS
Disputed. No maker has claimed it. Sceptics say people made it; proponents point to what they say people could not do.
